Who your customers are and how this role delivers:

Your external customers are our clients, prospects and business community members. Your internal customers will be Principle Auto associates, our vendors and contractors. You'll provide value by treating all customers with the highest sense of integrity, honesty and respect. You will work in partnership with the following associates to ensure their success:

  • Fixed Operations Director: Our Fixed Operations Director is a hardworking, driven manager who truly cares about the development of the associates he manages. The fixed operations director is responsible for the strategic vision and initiatives of the service department including service managers, advisors, technicians and support staff.
  • BMW Parts Director: Our Parts Director is a dynamic, engaging and outgoing manager with a wide range of experience working within a service department. The Parts Director directly oversees all parts staff, inventory and sales and provides strategic goals and oversight to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities of the Parts Counter Professional:

As one of our Parts Associates you will join a strong team of professionals who support our retail customers, wholesale customers and internal staff. Key responsibilities include:

  • Greet customers immediately once they walk up to the parts department.
  • Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Answers phone calls promptly, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Ability to communicate customer's interests, needs and requests to management and sales personnel.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock; then replenishes inventory daily.
  • Follows up on back-ordered parts.
  • Ensures all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
  • Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
  • Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Keeps current on new products and product updates.

Qualifications of the Parts Counter Professional:

  • 3-5 years of parts experience
  • ADP/CDK experience a plus
  • Flexibility of work hours
  • Provide exceptional customer service and teamwork with fellow associates
  • Always conduct yourself ethically and treat each customer and fellow associates with respect.
  • A high attention to detail combined with the ability to work quickly.
  • Enthusiastic presence and ability to smile constantly while with customers.
  • Ask yourself everyday: "If I were a customer, what would I want?" Then do your best to provide that kind of solution for your customer at every opportunity.
